PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Creating a Custom Home Theater & Game Room
During the early planning of this new home in Northwest Florida, the homeowners envisioned a luxury home entertainment space in 30A. They wanted a destination in their home where family and friends could gather to watch movies, play games, bowl, and spend time together.
Innovative worked closely with the homeowners from the initial planning phase to bring that vision to life. Our team helped shape the experience at every level—from the layout and acoustic environment to the lighting, entertainment systems, and intuitive control of each space.
The completed entertainment zone combines a custom Dolby Atmos home theater, a single-lane bowling alley, an expansive bar and lounge area, and a game room filled with custom arcade machines and vintage pinball games. Although each space offers a distinct experience, the entire level is unified through carefully integrated audio, video, lighting, and Control4 automation.
The result is an extraordinary family entertainment environment that feels immersive and exciting while remaining comfortable, intuitive and easy to enjoy.
HOME THEATER
A Media & Movie Watching Experience
The custom home theater was designed to deliver the scale, sound and atmosphere of a commercial cinema within the comfort of the client’s home. A Dolby Atmos surround-sound system creates an immersive audio experience, with the front speakers concealed behind the projection screen so the sound appears to come naturally from the action on screen.
Subwoofers integrated into both the walls provide powerful, evenly distributed bass without disrupting the room’s carefully considered design. Comprehensive acoustic treatments throughout the space improve clarity, control reflections, and help isolate the theater experience from the surrounding entertainment areas.
The visual environment is every bit as dramatic as the performance. A starlight ceiling creates the feeling of watching beneath a night sky, while illuminated stone panels along the walls introduce rich color and texture. The theater bar is wrapped in stone illuminated from beneath and along its sides, transforming a functional gathering area into one of the room’s defining design features.
Control4 automation places the entire theater experience within easy reach. The homeowners can start a movie and adjust the entertainment, lighting and room environment through a simple, unified interface. The technology remains largely out of sight, allowing the architecture, atmosphere and entertainment experience to take center stage.

GAME ROOM / COMMON AREA
A Maximum Entertainment Zone
Beyond the theater, the basement opens into a dynamic common area created for gaming, bowling, and entertaining. The centerpiece is a private single-lane bowling alley supported by two distinct video experiences. A display above the pins provides scoring information and can also show content from other entertainment sources, while a separate 100-inch television overlooking the lane creates a larger viewing experience for sports, movies and shared entertainment. Surface-mounted speakers provide clear, impactful sound throughout the bowling area.
The game room extends the experience with a collection of custom arcade machines and vintage pinball games, giving the space an energetic mix of modern and nostalgic entertainment.
At the center of the common area, an extravagant custom bar provides a natural gathering place for family and guests. Lighting concealed behind the walls and ceiling finishes illuminates the surrounding surfaces, giving the space its unmistakable visual character while reinforcing the connection between architecture and technology.
Integrated audio, video, and lighting allow the homeowners to tailor the space for different occasions—whether they are bowling as a family, hosting friends, watching a major sporting event, or enjoying the arcade. Control4 brings these systems together in one intuitive platform, making an exceptionally sophisticated entertainment environment remarkably simple to use.
